Silence is the main inhabitant of the streets of Montañana. This small town of Ribargozano, which has only three dozen inhabitants, reflects the grandeur of its medieval past in its appearance. A visit will take you back in time.

Montañana is an almost unknown spot, which belongs to Puente de Montañana.

Due to its old town and the harmony it emanates, it was declared Historic-Artistic Heritage and a Cultural Interest Asset, two titles it deserves because of its medieval legacy.

A walk through its cobbled streets gives an idea of the type of Aragonese architecture in the Middle Ages.

The first information regarding settlement here dates to the 10th century. It was a border land and as such was designed with a defensive wall and, of which, remains of some of its towers can still be seen.
