To talk of the Monz贸n Castle is to enter the history of the Templars, in the childhood of King Jaime I and in the last moments of existence of the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon.

Monz贸n Castle, declared a National Monument, was an ancient Muslim fortification.

Here, Jaime I the Conqueror was educated as a child and, in addition, one of the most important Templar orders of the Crown of Aragon had its seat there.

It is an essential visit because you can still observe a Muslim tower, chapel and Romanesque outbuildings, underground galleries and artillery defences there.

Don't miss the Temple interpretation centre that will introduce you to the fascinating world of the warrior-monks of this military group.
