A spectacular natural environment protects the Obarra Monastery; a complex where its Lombard Romanesque church is particularly noteworthy.

Between the 9th and 11th centuries, this religious centre of the town of Veracruz played a leading role in the birth of the County of Ribagorza, one of the legs of the Kingdom of Aragon.

The elements that should not escape the artistic eye are found in the apse, with its blind arches by way of closed windows and, on them, a frieze of rhomboid cells.
