This, the first monastery of the Carthusian order in the Kingdom of Aragon, located in Sariñena, is worth a visit because of its interesting 18th century paintings.

The work of Brother Manuel Bayeu, brother-in-law of Francisco de Goya, which remains despite the vicissitudes of history.

The monastery, located in Sariñena, has suffered a fire, was a spa, barracks in the Civil War and cattle ranch. In private hands now, it is still worthwhile due to the colourful frescoes that decorate its church, the chapel cloister and the chapter house.

These are 250 independent compositions, all relating to the life of the Virgin, the four women of the Old Testament and the four cardinal virtues.

For this reason, and for their intense theatrical sense, they are one of the largest and most important murals of the 18th century in Aragon.
